Austin Pottorff originally worked with our Firm as a Law Clerk in the summer before his last year of Law School and was given the opportunity to join the Firm as an associate attorney after passing the Louisiana Bar. Mr. Pottorff has focused majority of his practice on family law matters, such as; divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, community property partitions,  protective orders, step-parent adoption, adult adoption, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, and various other related issues.

Mr. Pottorff graduated Magna Cum Laude from McNeese State University in 2019, with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and associate’s degree in general studies. While at McNeese Mr. Pottorff served in numerous leadership positions and received the title of Mr. McNeese in 2019. Mr. Pottorff then attended and graduated Cum Laude and in the top 20% from Louisiana State University, Paul M Hebert Law Center in 2022. Mr. Pottorff served as President of his class for all three (3) years of law school and served as a Senior Asssociate & Issues Editor for the Louisiana Law Review Vol. 82. Mr. Pottorff has been a member of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association Young Lawyers Section since 2023 and is currently serving as secretary. Mr. Pottorff has served as Treasurer for the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association Family Law Section since 2024.

Mr. Pottorff is extremely passionate about his work and fights for the best interest of his clients. On a personal note, Mr. Pottorff enjoys going to events at the Lake Charles Event Center and other local events, such as Chuckfest and Downtown at Sundown. Mr. Pottorff got married to his wife, Hailey, a week after graduating from Law School and the pair welcomed their daughter, Parker, in 2025.
